FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can’t find what you need? Contact support.

Do I need an account?

No. Open TinyNotes and start writing; your notes are saved in this browser. Create an account only if you want your notes on more than one device.

Can I use TinyNotes on multiple devices?

Yes. Sign in on each device and your notes stay in sync between them. The first time you sign in, TinyNotes asks before adding any notes from that browser to your account.

Can I use TinyNotes offline?

Notes you’ve already opened keep working without a connection: you can read and edit them, and the changes sync when you’re back online. TinyNotes needs a connection the first time you open it on a device.

What happens if I edit the same note on two devices?

Nothing is lost. If both devices changed the same note, TinyNotes keeps the other device’s version in place and saves yours as a separate copy, then tells you.

Can I export my notes?

Yes. Export a full backup as JSON (which TinyNotes can import again), all your notes as one Markdown file, or a single note as Markdown or plain text.

Is TinyNotes free?

Yes. Everything available today, including accounts and sync, is free. Paid plans aren’t available yet.

Are my notes private?

Without an account, notes stay in your browser and aren’t sent anywhere. With an account, they’re stored with your account and protected by access controls so only you can read them. They aren’t end-to-end encrypted. TinyNotes has no analytics or ad trackers.

What if I clear my browser data?

Notes written without an account live only in that browser, so clearing its site data removes them. Export a backup now and then, or sign in so a copy lives in your account.
